Why You Should Book a Mini Studio Session 6–12 Months After Your Newborn Photos

May 14, 2025

The newborn stage is a whirlwind of snuggles, sleepy yawns, and sweet, squishy moments — and I’m always so honoured to capture it. But here’s a little secret: the magic doesn’t stop there. In fact, some of the most heart-melting milestones happen in the first year after your baby’s arrival. That’s why I offer exclusive milestone mini studio sessions to families who’ve had a newborn session with me — designed especially for when your little one is between 6 to 12 months old.

Here’s why this window is so special — and absolutely worth photographing:

1. Their Personality Starts to Shine

Around 6–12 months, your baby isn’t just growing — they’re becoming them. From gummy grins and curious expressions to cheeky smirks and little laughs, these sessions capture that emerging personality in a way that newborn photos simply can’t. It’s the start of a whole new chapter.

2. The Sitter Stage = Gold

When babies can sit up unassisted (usually around 6–8 months), it opens up so many sweet, natural poses. They’re alert, engaged, and full of charm — without yet being able to crawl or walk away! It’s the perfect sweet spot for beautifully relaxed and joyful photos.

3. Big Changes in Just Months

It’s truly incredible how much changes in such a short time. Those tiny newborn features have softened into baby rolls and bright eyes. Booking a mini session during this phase means you’ll have a fuller story of your baby’s first year — from sleepy newborn to wide-eyed wonder.

4. A Quick, Relaxed Experience

Our mini studio sessions are just 30 minutes, making them ideal for busy families and babies with short attention spans. The studio is warm, welcoming, and styled simply to keep the focus on your little one. It's relaxed, low-pressure, and often filled with giggles.

5. Perfect for Updating Your Walls & Albums

Many families use this session to update their gallery wall, create a beautiful first-year photo album, or even design gifts for grandparents. These little milestones deserve to be seen and remembered — not just scrolled past on your phone!

These mini sessions are exclusively available to families who have had a newborn session with me — a sweet way to continue your baby’s story with a familiar face in a familiar space.

Let’s bottle up this fleeting, wonder-filled stage — simply, beautifully, and in just 30 minutes.
