When I first started Chantelle Elise Photography, I was all about the outdoors — golden hour light, rolling fields, and those soft skies we all love. And while I’ll always have a soft spot for outdoor sessions, since building my home studio, I’ve fallen completely in love with the beauty (and ease!) of photographing families indoors.
As my own family has grown, studio photography has naturally become my main focus. I have two young children, and being able to work from a space that’s just steps from home has been the biggest blessing — allowing me to balance motherhood and my work in a way that feels calm, intentional, and in rhythm with our lives.
But beyond the personal side of things, there are so many reasons why families are loving studio sessions too. Here’s why they’re such a beautiful (and practical!) option:
🌤 No Need for Sunrise or Sunset
Studio sessions mean you don’t have to chase the light. No more worrying about early morning starts or late evening golden hour — we can shoot during the day when little ones are happiest. Mid-morning or just after a nap is often perfect for younger children, and there's no stress about rushing out the door before dinner.
👕 No Messy Clothes or Muddy Fields
There’s no need to stress about keeping outfits clean or little ones rolling around in the grass. In the studio, everything stays tidy, and you can relax knowing no one's outfit will be ruined before we’ve even started.
🧠 Fewer Distractions
Studio sessions are quiet, calm, and focused. Without dogs running past, noisy playgrounds or busy parks, kids (and grown-ups!) often settle into the session more quickly. The result? More connection, more cuddles, and more meaningful moments captured.
🌧 Weather-Proof
No need to reschedule because of rain, wild winds, or scorching summer heat. The studio is consistent, cozy, and ready whenever you are — which means less stress for everyone and more flexibility for busy families.
A Space Made With Heart
This studio of mine is so much more than four walls — it’s a space that has allowed my business to grow alongside my family. A place where I’ve watched hundreds of newborns yawn their first yawns, toddlers giggle in their mama’s arms, and families just be together, uninterrupted.
If you’ve never considered a studio session before, I’d love to invite you in. It’s warm, natural, simple, and full of love — and I think you’ll be surprised at just how relaxed and beautiful it can be.
Let’s create something timeless, right here.
