Why it is important to book your newborn photos early (if you can)

Why It’s So Important to Book Your Newborn Session Early

Lately I’ve had so many messages from families reaching out once their baby has already arrived — and while I’ll always try my best to fit you in, the truth is that spots fill up quickly, especially during busy months.

Booking early (ideally during your second trimester) means your session is secured, your due date is pencilled in, and there’s no stress trying to find a last-minute opening once your baby is here.

Newborn sessions are usually held within the first 1–3 weeks after birth, when babies are still extra sleepy and flexible for those sweet, curled-up poses.

Why book early?

  • Guaranteed spot: You’ll be locked in for your ideal timeframe.

  • Less stress: Once baby arrives, you can simply enjoy those early days knowing everything is organised.

  • Better planning: It gives us time to chat about styling, outfits, and what to bring.

  • Sleepy, settled babies: The earlier window makes it easier to capture those peaceful, snuggly moments.

  • More choice: Booking early means you can choose from more available dates and times.

Of course, if your baby has already arrived, please still reach out. Sometimes I have unexpected openings and can make it work — but it’s never something I can promise.

If you’re expecting and thinking about booking a newborn session, now’s the perfect time to reach out. Your future self will thank you for being so organised — and you’ll have beautiful memories to look back on forever.
